Intensive Therapy for Kids

Intensive Sessions  Intensive pediatric therapy was first pioneered in Eastern Europe. The concept is simple; repetition of gross motor skills trains your child’s brain to make these movements on their own, similar to how an athlete’s body responds to vigorous exercise. With the use of special equipment such as the Universal Exercise Unit (UEU),  Therasuit ^TM and partial weight bearing equipment, a custom treatment session is developed to get the best possible results from your child.

Sessions typically last 3 hours and are conducted daily over the course of 3 or 4 weeks depending on each child’s unique needs. Each session may include activities such as massage, soft tissue lengthening techniques/stretching, sensory preparation, alignment activities, improving proper movement patterns use of the UEU, Therasuit ^TM activities and exercises and partial weight bearing gait training.  Occupational and or Speech Language Therapy may be part of the program depending on the goals of your child. A three week session of intensive therapy for children can provide results that would take months of traditional therapy to obtain.

Location  Mainely Kidz Saco office is conveniently located in an area that will provide fun for the whole family and easily accessible from all of New England. You may choose to make part or all of the 3 week session into a family vacation. Our clinic is located just minutes from the beautiful Maine coast and one of Maine’s premier vacation destinations. With sessions only lasting 3 hours you will have either mornings or afternoons to enjoy all Maine has to offer. We find the children tend to work a little harder when rewarded with some fun! Price  The price of a three-week session is $4950. This includes 15 hours per week of skilled therapy provided by licensed therapists trained by Izabela Koscielny who established the program in the United States in 2002.  Customized intensive session will be charged a pro-rated amount. Please contact us with any questions or to reserve a space in a session. 

Deposits  A $1000 deposit is required to reserve a space in a intensive session. Placement will not be reserved until the deposit is received. 50% of the remaining balance is due four weeks prior to the beginning of the session and any outstanding balance is due on the first day of the scheduled session.  If the session needs to be rescheduled, the deposit will be credited towards a future available session.  The deposit is non-refundable and expires one calendar year after receipt.  We reserve the right to assign your child to either a morning or afternoon session and to change the assignment should circumstances require us to do so.  However, we will do our best to accommodate your childs needs.

Payments and Insurance  We accept personal check, money order, and Visa and MasterCard. We do not bill private insurance or Medicaid for intensive therapy sessions.

Cancellations  After deposit or full payment has been made, a full refund will be made within 90 days for the following reasons:

Child does not meet the criteria to participate in our intensive program.

The physician will not authorize participation in the program due to medical reasons.

• Proper documentation will be required in order to process the refund.

Cancellations for any reason other than those listed above will result in the deposit or full payment being applied to another available session within one calendar year. These funds are non-refundable and will expire after one calendar year.

Requirements for Participation  A client intake sheet must be faxed to us prior to reserving space for an intensive session.  A written hip X-ray (an A/P (anterior/posterior) view to rule out hip subluxation or dislocation that is no older than 6 months old) must also be provided before the session begins.
